A letter from Heather Foster.... in regards to
the Ms. Olympia 2005
Hello everyone!
I trust
this e-mail finds you all in good health. As you
all have now heard, the once prestigious Ms. Olympia finals has
been relegated to a side show at the Olympia Expo. We
are asking you to send e-mails informing your fans, family,
friends, pro men bodybuilders, etc., asking them to
write to each of the individuals listed below, voicing
your outrage over the way the professional women bodybuilders
are being treated. We have suffered many indignities
over the years, yet we still remain professional, and continue
to compete under less than ideal circumstances, and for
very little prize money. They say we don't sell tickets,
that no one wants to see us, yet we sold out the City Center
Theater in NY!!! Wayne DeMilia made a statement
to that effect in Flex Magazine, which is why
he removed the other two divisions from the lineup
the following year. So, those of us who attend
the shows hear the difference in the reaction of the crowd
when the female bodybuilders come onstage. I am in
no way trying to take anything away from the other divisions
(I have quite a few friends in both divisions). I
am just stating a fact. So, I will encourage all
the divisions, the amateur athletes, fans, family, friends,
etc. to send an e-mail to each of the individuals below
regarding this latest outrage. I do appreciate you
taking the time out of your busy schedule to to this. Thank
you all in advance.

Peter McGough: PMcGough@flexmagazine.com
Healthfully Yours,
Heather
Hello Everyone,
I
just wanted to encourage you all to send e-mails to
David Pecker at dpecker@amilink.com,
Vince Scalisi at vscalisi@weiderpub.com,
and Peter McGough at PMcGough@flexmagazine.com,
voicing your outrage regarding women's bodybuilding
being relegated to a side show @ the Olympia Expo. I implore each
and every one of you to send e-mails to your friends,
family, fans, and to amateur and pro athletes, encouraging
them to do the same. We all have a vested
interest in this, fitness, figure, and male bodybuilders
included. It started with the women bodybuilders,
now the fitness and figure athletes are getting less
and less coverage as well. One show has already
decreased the prize money for the men as well as the
women, so don't think you have not been or will not be
affected by the decisions that these people have made
and will continue to make. Remember when Bob
Chicerillo first started talk of a union and having an
athlete's representative? Well ther
were more women athletes there showing support than there was
from the men's division. We were there because
are all part of the IFBB and we wanted to show our support. Now
we need some reciprocation, we need to all stand together,
ALL DIVISIONS, amateurs and professionals! WE are
the NPC/IFBB! Without us, they cease to exist. Let's
stop this atrocity make something positive happen.
Pro bodybuilder Lee Priest forwarded
a copy of the e-mail he sent out, and with his permission,
I have forwarded it to you all to give you the strength
and motivation to do the same. Lee has proven to
not only be an amazing person on the outside, but to
show that same character trait internally as well. He
is one of what I hope to be many pro male bodybuilders
who will show their support by sending an e-mail to those
mentioned above. Please see Lee's e-mail below:
THIS IS MY LETTER TO THEM LEE
I just thought i would write and say how disgusted i am in you all for
putting the womens Ms Olympia in the expo.Peter you of all people know
how hard these women train and to be pushed aside for a bikini show is
just bullshit.Yes i know not everyone like womens bodybuilding but
they have earned the right ti be on that arena stage. They pay their $170 a
year for the right ti be pro and compete in a pro facility. You are all
just making a joke of it.If you don't want them there then cancel the MS
Olympia.
We all as pro s know the Arnold is now the number one show and the Olympia
has no more prestige like it had.The Olympia is a joke both men's and womens.
I think you all need to step back and listen to the fans ,yes the true
hard core fans that travel around the world for this show. Not the mainstream
crowd we know it will never bee mainstream.Shit just look at ESPN2 hot
dog eating contest, and everything else but never no bodybuilding.
So you all need to wake up and put the womens show back in the aerena where
it belongs.
The bikini girls can have the expo.
You all actually make me disgusted in what you are doing to the sport that
has given you your jobs and made you money.
Lee Priest
